Kontos - Red Heart / Lacewood / Black Pins and Liners
Born of iron. Shaped by need. Carried with purpose.
Once, the kontos was a lance in the hands of horsemen thundering across sunbaked plains. Today, its spirit rides in steel again—not for war, but for work. Not to conquer, but to create.
The Kontos Knife is a modern blade with an ancient soul—designed for those who move through the wild with quiet intent, who value edge over excess, and who know that a good knife isn’t a trophy—it’s a trusted companion.
🔱 A Blade with Balance: Forged from 52100 high-carbon steel and heat-treated to a Rockwell hardness of 61, the Kontos holds an edge through the hard miles. Its 4-inch saber-flat ground blade, with a 25° double bevel, is made to cut with purpose—slicing clean through wood, hide, and bone. Strong at the spine, sharp at the edge, ready for anything the trail demands.
⚒️ Form Meets Function:
A 1/8” thick spine—thin enough to slice, stout enough to endure.
A grind that carries strength to the edge, where the real work happens.
An edge geometry that holds up and hones easily—because time is better spent using a knife than fixing it.
🌲 A Handle Rooted in the Earth: The 4.5-inch handle is shaped to fit the hand like it belongs there—because it does. Made from richly toned hardwoods, it’s more than just beautiful; it’s built for grip, for control, for long days and calloused palms. No flash, no frills—just the kind of comfort that speaks for itself.
🪓 Crafted for the Everyday: This isn’t a blade to hang on the wall. It’s one you’ll hang on your belt, throw in your pack, and reach for without thinking. For feathersticks and field dressing, cordage and kindling, quiet walks and messy jobs—it’s built to be used, not admired.
